Это рассказ, написанный с использованием идиом. Вообще-то, задание было - составить с ними предложения, но я сочинила рассказ, за что получила оценку "Great!"

The day didn't promise anything good for Jonathan. He overslept, and his teacher, Mr. Pearson, chewed him out because he was late. In addition, he forgot to do his homework.
"You must stop goofing off'", Mr. Pearson said, "or I'll give you "zero".
"What a turkey", Jon thought as he was going to his place.

At break time, he wanted to talk with Sally, but she was talking with Jim Bull from another class. He tried to hear what they were talking about.
"You're a fox", said Jim.
"Whatever", she answered smiling at him.
"You are such a dork". It sounded like "You are cool!" and they laughed.

He went into the classroom.
"You are looking blue", said Keeg, his friend.
"Gimme a break!" he answered. He was green with envy, he thought.

After school, he waited for her phone call, as per usual, but she didn't call him. His sister talked on the phone for about an hour, and he demanded for her to hang up the phone.
"Why the hell are you speaking so long!" he whispered loudly.

He was very sad and angry. He planned his revenge. "I must show them I'm cool! I'm not yellow! I am not a chicken or a nut! I have a backbone! Tomorrow I'll give him a black eye... or maybe after tomorrow".

At five o'clock the phone rung. He hurried to pick up the phone, but it was Keeg.
"Do you want to hang out with me?" he asked. "Yes", Jon agreed.

They wandered through the park. Suddenly he noticed Sally with Jim sitting on a bench. They talked joyfully. He hugged her. It was too much for Jon! He rushed home as quickly as he could.

He ran into his room and shut the door noisily. He was out of breath.

"He looks red-faced. What's wrong with him?" asked his father.
"He needs to grow up", Jon's mother said.

Jon fell on his bed and cried until he fell asleep. A rather usual story, isn't it?
